Position: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Entry Level)

Duties: A plant operator is responsible for completing daily operational duties to include: equipment checks, housekeeping, landscaping, equipment operation, vehicle operation, preventive maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Requirements: The position requires the employee to be dependable, self-motivated and reliable. A valid New Jersey driver’s license is required.
The employee must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions and perform as part of the operations team.
The employee will be required to work overtime and to provide adequate coverage during emergencies.
The employee will be required to work shift work which may include any or all of the flowing shifts; 11PM – 7AM, 7AM – 3PM, or 3PM – 11PM. In addition, days off are subject to scheduling and could be a combination of any two days during the week from Sunday – Monday. Weekend days off are not guaranteed.
Training: While prior experience will be taken into consideration, it is not required. All Training for the position of Plant Operator will be a combination of on-the-job training, classroom instruction, individual instruction and the review of manuals, guidelines, verbal and written instructions.
Pay and Benefits: In accordance with current CBA between the Construction and General laborers’ Union, Local 172 of South Jersey and the Mount Holly Municipal Utilities Authority. Starting hourly wage is $19.61 during probationary period increasing to $24.33 thereafter. Benefits include Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision, PERS pension and short-term disability.
